Neutral Density 1.2 Flat lens Housing : This is a specialty item. It is a GoPro housing with a 1.2 (4 stops) ND filter inside the flat lens housing for slowing propellers and spinning tires. The purpose of this housing is to cut down the light to the camera so the HD Hero camera can get a longer exposure causing moving/spinning items to blur out and usually disappear completely from view. The only reason this is a flat lens is to allow room for the filter (it would buckle with the curved lens). The flat lens has NOTHING to do with angle of view. Angle is exactly the same as with the GoPro stock housing. Lens is acrylic. NOT FOR UNDERWATER USE. ONLY FOR BRIGHT SUNLIGHT OR BRIGHT OVERCAST DAYS. If you use it in any other weather conditions, it will cause the automatic video gain in the camera to go up and it will look grainy.

Paddle Mount: This mount was originally made for Shark Week for the top fin of a shark, but it could be use for something else. You can very quickly attach and detach in a fraction of a second if needed. It works similar to a vice grip, except there is no adjustment nob. Whatever you squeeze this onto, it will stay locked tight until a lever is pushed. The paddles are covered with non-stick material (looks like painted sandpaper) for maximum grip. This mount is very front heavy, so you must have a very strong hold on the subject and the subject must be stable or else the mount may rotate off. Can be used vertically or horizontally. Could be used with other lightweight cameras. Neutral Density/polarizer filter (by Ragecam). This little gem needs some explaining. Ever seen a GoPro video where the tires are going backwards (1:57) or where you see RC/helicopter blades (2:00) as if they are standing still? Wouldn't it be nice to blur them? All you have to do is cut out some of the light to the lens and you'll get nice realistic blurred propellers, tires, roads, etc. to give you a natural feel. This filter simply goes between the HD Hero camera lens and the underwater housing lens. But wait, there's more. It's also a polarizing filter making the sky deeper blue, removing water reflections and giving more vibrant colors all around. (does not work in our flat lens housing) |
